A nurturing environment

Some days, you don't have to code. Sometimes, you have to get out of your comfort zone in order to learn.
I have always wondered how a day of a Software Developer unfolds. There are a lot of vlogs about this topic online. The usual routine would be to check emails and work progress, fix bugs, and code. However, a lot can happen in a day. It also takes a lot of courage to do something a Developer wouldn't do in a normal day.
Let's just say I got assigned to a task that would deal with more speaking than coding. I experienced presenting in front of a few people in the past but it was something that did not need to much formality. I even went out of my way to create a creative presentation without having to forget my main objective, which was to share what I know. My equation that time was Presentation = Creativity + Learning. However, this time, it was different. I had to include in my presentation equation Formality and Effective Translation. Completing a nerve-wracking task, per se, requires a combination of focus, perseverance, and managing intense emotions.
It was quite an advantage for me, though. I had been polishing my skill speaking in English by reading different books while on the treadmill for the past month. I'd like to thank the authors for being the key toward my confidence regarding this task. Above all, I'd like to thank my co-workers and seniors for believing in me that I could do it. When we try to accomplish something that is out of our league, it does not merely entail our own knowledge and skills for us to be able to deliver well. Having people to support us along the way strengthens our morale, making us believe that we can overcome any challenges. As a result, we are motivated to push ourselves and focus on our capabilities rather than our limitations.
The whole point of this was that working in an environment that enables you to identify and unlock your strengthens while boosting your confidence is essential in growing and learning the ways in being a working adult. So, I hope you find this kind of environment - the one that nurtures you to be the best that you can be.
